Do the laws of Ghana make provisions for commuting time?

  What is commuting time? The time it takes for a worker to get to and from work. Is this covered by any labour laws? The labour laws of Ghana have no provision for the payment of commuting time. Generally commuting time in Ghana ranges between 1 – 2 hours from home to work and back respectively, especially in Accra. Does the period form part of working hours? This period does not form part of working hours and therefore is not paid. Should commuting hours be paid? It is only covered at instances where provision is made by respective organisations to meet commuting costs in terms of transport and fuel subsidies.
